Recon Senses was a Medium Build specialization.

Overview

Recon Senses is an optical enhancement that enhances visibility and reveals the positions of enemy contestants. The maximum amount of time that this ability can be active is 8.25 seconds. The ability recharge takes twice the time that it was active; i.e. it would take 10 seconds to recharge after being used for 5 seconds. However, it can be used while recharging, as long as it has around a fifth of it's charge available.

Interactions

  • Using Recon Senses highlights enemies in a faint red color, allowing you to see them through structures, foliage, and smoke.
  • The activation cost is 1.5 seconds.
  • The minimum charge time to activate is 2 seconds.
  • The highlight effect weakens as distance increases.
  • While Recon Senses are active, players within it's range will have the word "Detected" displayed on their screen, similar to Sonar Grenades.

Strengths and Weaknesses

  • This specialization can give players a tactical advantage by allowing them to track the movements of enemies and plan their attack or defense accordingly. It is most effective when used in combination with good communication and teamwork.
  • When facing Light players using a Cloaking Device, Recon Senses can provide early warning and has the potential to completely shut down their ambush capabilities, especially if they are also using a SH1900 shotgun as they would be unprepared to respond to suddenly being fired upon from outside their effective range.
  • Players who are not able to communicate with their team will not be able to share the location of highlighted enemies through structures, which means this specialization may not be as beneficial to the team as the Healing Beam or Guardian Turret. This specialization's long cooldown means the user must be able to manage its usage efficiently.
