Power Shift
More actions
Power Shift is a casual 5v5 Gamemode where two teams compete to escort a platform through the arena.
Objective
The objective of Powershift is to escort the central platform to the opposing team’s goal. Teams must control the platform by positioning their contestants on it and preventing the enemy team from doing the same. The distance the platform has travelled is indicated by the money amount on the scoreboard, with a maximum of $40,000 if the platform is escorted to the finish.
Platform Mechanics
- Activation: The platform begins moving shortly after a contestant steps onto it.
- Contested State: If contestants from both teams are on the platform simultaneously, movement halts until only one team remains.
- Speed: Platform speed scales with the number of contestants on it:
- 1 contestant: slow speed
- 2 contestants: medium speed
- 3 or more contestants: maximum speed
- Environmental Interaction:
- The platform can be rocked and displaced by certain forces, such as explosions.
- Contestants caught underneath the platform will take continuous damage until they escape or are eliminated.
- The platform will tear through any structures in its path as it moves.
Contestants and Respawns
- Loadouts: Players may change contestants and loadouts between respawns.
- Wave Respawns: Contestants respawn in timed waves to encourage coordinated re-engagements.
- Unlimited Coins: The number of respawns per contestant is unlimited.
- Spawn Location:
- At the start of the match, both teams spawn equidistant from the platform.
- After the match begins, respawn points shift based on the platform's current position on the track.
Win Conditions
- Primary Victory: A team wins by successfully escorting the platform into the opposing team's goal area.
- Time Expiry: If the timer runs out before a goal is reached, the team that has pushed the platform furthest wins (unless the platform is being contested).
Overtime Rules
- Trigger: Overtime is triggered if time expires while the platform is being contested.
- Duration: Overtime lasts for a maximum of 5 minutes.
- Victory in Overtime: The team currently on the platform must escort it fully onto the opposing team’s side, and the platform must not be contested when it reaches the end zone.
- Stalemate: If the platform has never been controlled by either team during the match, and overtime ends without a winner, the game will randomly assign victory to one of the teams.
