Terminal Attack was a 5v5, single-life, attack-and-defend Gamemode in which contestants take turns delivering a decryption key to a terminal. Attackers are tasked with completing the decryption, while defenders must prevent it by any means necessary.

As of the 8.0.0 Update (Season 8), Terminal Attack has been removed from the available game modes (including private matches) in favor of Head2Head.

Revives are disabled in Terminal Attack, leaving contestants with only one life per-round. The Healing Beam, Defibrillator, H+ Infuser, and Healing Emitter are unavailable, and contestants can only regenerate a limited amount of health depending on their Build. Gadgets do not restock, so contestants should engage with caution and go in with a plan.

Gameplay

  • Each round, two terminals spawn at random locations.
  • Attackers are given a decryption key they can carry and throw.
  • To start a decryption, an attacker holding the decryption key must interact with a terminal for 7 seconds.
  • To stop a decryption, a defender must interact with the terminal that's being decrypted for 7 seconds.
  • Decryption takes 1 minute to complete.
  • The round ends once a decryption is completed or stopped.
  • Teams switch between playing the role of attackers and defenders.
  • At the start of each round, both teams are given 20 seconds to prepare. The defenders can reach both terminals during this time.
  • Contestants can swap items to and from reserve in-between rounds.
  • Contestants cannot respawn during rounds.
  • Contestants can only heal limited health during rounds depending on their Build.
    • Heavy Build: 150 health.
    • Medium Build: 125 health.
    • Light Build: 100 health.
  • Gadgets do not restock during rounds.
  • The Healing Beam, Defibrillator, H+ Infuser, and Healing Emitter are unavailable.
  • Arena destruction persists until teams switch roles between attackers and defenders, at which point it resets.

Win Conditions

Round

  • Attackers: Terminal decryption completes.
  • Attackers: The defender team is wiped.
  • Defenders: Terminal decryption is interfered.
  • Defenders: The attacker team is wiped before decryption key can be placed in a terminal

Match

  • The first team to win 5 rounds (best of 9), wins the match.
