Powder canisters, also known as smoke canisters or grey canisters, are carriable objects that are placed around the arena grounds. Contestants can trigger them to release a thick cloud of smoke which may help them stay hidden from enemies.
Overview
Like any barrel, powder canisters are placed at random locations picked from a large set of fixed barrel locations specific to the arena. It is possible for no barrels to be present in a round. They can also be obtained from balloons. Contestants can pick up the barrel to carry it around the arena or throw it somewhere.

Effects
The canister will immediately burst into a cloud of smoke when it is hit, whether it is shot, thrown or hit while holding it.
The smoke cloud created will last for 10 seconds before it starts slowly diminishing during next 5 seconds.
Initial smoke cloud is thick and will hide what is behind it, as well as hiding contestant names and outlines that are in or behind the smoke. Contestants inside the smoke will have limited visibility, only being able to see a few metres ahead of them. While fading out, smoke still slightly limits visibility in decreasing area, but isn't putting out fire or hides contestant names and outlines anymore.
Properties
Canister
Destructible — Immediately destroyed upon receiving any damage, resulting a cloud of smoke smoke to apear on it's place.
Damaging — Hitting an ememy contestant directly with the barrel deals 50 damage.
Trigger on Impact — Can fly for any amount of time and triggers when the projectile collides with a surface or contestant. For the Powder Canister, this happens at the first impact, unless it was dropped by a contestant holding it.
Reshapeable — Can be reshaped by the Data Reshaper into a different arena carriable by contestants.
Not Interceptible — Cannot be removed by the APS Turret.
No Bounce — Bursts into a smoke cloud immidiately upon hitting anything (except after being dropped by a contestant).
Smoke
Usable by Opponents — Can be used by opponents to their advantage.
Visibility — Affects the line of sight of the user and/or opponents. The smoke cloud blocks vision.
Not Attached — Does not attach to a surface upon deployment. The smoke cloud will remain stationary.
Strategy
- Powder canisters can be used to hide players from enemy sightlines and from being detected by the Guardian Turret.
- Hiding in smoke while defending a cashout can help kill stealing enemies without being spotted.
- Dropping a canister, instead of throwing, from any hight won't deal any damage to the barrel, thus will prevent it from going off.
- Smoke from the canister can be used to put out fire.
- After exploding the balloon with Powder canisters, if contestant want to use them later, they have to catch canisters before they hit the ground. Otherwise they will explode upon landing from high enough distance.
- Using Quick Melee while holding Powder Canister will immidiately create smoke cloud. Helpful if you need to quckly break the line of sight with enemy.
