Damage50
Value$10,000 - $25,000

Cash Boxes are carriable objects that appear in the arena once a Vault has been opened. Contestants are tasked with transporting the valuable Cash Box to a Cashout Station to start a cashout, which is the only method for teams to extract the cash value.

Overview

Cash Boxes are central objectives in Cashout gamemodes and serve as the primary means for teams to earn large amounts of cash. Each Cash Box is initially secured inside a Vault, which must be opened before it can be accessed. Once released, teams must transport the Cash Box to a Cashout Station to initiate a cashout.

Cash Boxes are worth no monetary value to any team until they are inserted into a Cashout Station.

Spawning

Main page: Vault

Cash Boxes originate exclusively from Vaults. At the start of a match, up to two Vaults, depending on the Cashout gamemode being played, will be present in the arena. Each time a Cashout Station completes a cashout, a new Vault spawns at a random fixed location and releases a new Cash Box once opened.

Carrying and Interaction

Cash Boxes can be picked up, carried, dropped, or thrown by contestants once released from a Vault.

While carrying a Cash Box, contestants can still move and sprint but are generally unable to use most Specializations, Weapons, or Gadgets. Attempting to use most tools will cause the Cash Box to be dropped, though a small number of movement-based abilities can be activated without dropping it.

Cash Boxes can also be dropped involuntarily through other means, such as the carrier being eliminated, being affected by a Glitch Grenade or Glitch Trap, or by being stunned by a Winch Claw. If a Cash Box is thrown or dropped out of the playable area, it will return to its last valid position after a brief delay. Throwing a Cash Box at an enemy contestant deals 50 damage on impact.

Visibility and Indicators

If a Cash Box is left idle on the ground and not being carried, it will become visible to all contestants after a brief delay, at which point an on-screen indicator appears at its location.

While being carried, the Cash Box pulses periodically. Each pulse plays an audible cue and briefly reveals both the Cash Box’s location and the team color of its carrier.

As long as a Cash Box has a visible indicator, it can be pinged by contestants to alert their teammates to its presence.

Each Cash Box is assigned a numerical index on its indicator, ranging from 1 to 6, based on the order in which it is spawned.

Value

Cash Box values vary by gamemode.

  • In Quick Cash, all Cash Boxes are worth $10,000.
  • In Head2Head, as well as the final round of Cashout and Ranked Cashout, all Cash Boxes are worth $25,000.
  • In the knockout rounds of Cashout and Ranked Cashout, Cash Boxes increase in value on every second spawn. During these rounds, inserting a Cash Box into a Cashout Station awards the team responsible with 20% of its initial value, with the remaining value granted to the team that successfully completes the cashout.
Cash Box Index Value
Cash Box 1 & 2 $10,000
Cash Box 3 & 4 $15,000
Cash Box 5 & 6 $22,000

Strategy

  • Throwing a Cash Box into a Cashout Station from a distance allows the cashout process to begin a few moments sooner, saving time.
  • Contestants carrying a Cash Box can throw it forwards while running with the intent of picking it back up after a moment. This allows them to reload their Weapon or deploy a Gadget without losing any time.
