The Grand Major 2026 is the second official esports event of THE FINALS, organized by Embark Studios. It was announced right after TGM25 finale.
Overview
Teams will be able to qualify for the The Grand Major, either by competing in Online Series or participating in open Open Qualifiers.
Participating regions:
- EMEA (Europe, Middle East & Africa)
- AMERICAS (North America & South America)
- APAC (Asia-Pacific, including Oceania and China)
Qualifiers
TGM26 Online Series
Teams could participate in 4 tournament cycles earning points by ranking higher in each cycle. Each cycle consisted of 3 phases:
- Swiss
- Up to 256 teams play 3v3 Final Round matches in Swiss Format.
- The Promotion
- 16 teams that qualified through Swiss bracket play Cashout Tournaments.
- Show Day
- 8 teams from the previous stage play combination of Cashout Tournaments and Finals rounds.
Top 8 teams would get points in the Online Series Leaderboard depending on their performance during the Show Day.
At the end of 4 cycles position on the leaderboard would dictate the path team will take further.
- Top 1 team from each region get direct invitations to The Grand Major.
- 2nd-5th place get invitations to Close Qualifiers.
- 6th-9th place got advancements in Open Qualifiers.

Open Qualifiers
Open Qualifiers start right after the end of Online Series. It is open for everyone to participate. Best teams will get invitation to Close Qualifiers.
Closed Qualifiers
Closed Qualifiers is the last step of the qualification process for TGM26. Number of teams that could qualify to The Grand Major depends from the region:
- AMERICAS - Top 6 teams
- EMEA - Top 5 teams
- APAC - Top 2 teams
The Grand Major
Best 16 teams enter The Grand Major at DreamHack Stockholm at November 27, 2026:
- AMERICAS - 7 spots
- EMEA - 6 spots
- APAC - 3 spot
The Promotion | Phase 1
First phase is build around Cashout Tournaments. The winners of the Tournament advances to the next phase. Then the Tournament starts over. Alongside the main tournament a lower bracket is played, the winner of which will replace the qualified team in the main tournament bracket.
The main tournament is played 8 times, until 8 teams qualifiy to the next phase.
The Promotion | Phase 2
Phase two follows the same format as Phase 1, but adapted for 8 teams.
The main tournament is played 5 times, until 5 teams qualify to the final phase.
The Throne | Phase 3
Final phase follows King of the Hill format.
At the beginning 4 best teams play Cashout (without the team that got 5th place in the last stage), 2 teams qualify to the Final Round, winner of which becomes King of the Hill.
Four other teams play Cashout again, but from now on the winner of the Final Round becomes the Challenger.
Challenger and the King play best-of-three Final Round. Winner becomes or stays the King and receives 1 point. When any team acquires 3 points they become the winner of The Grand Major.
