The Gravity Vortex is a Light class deployable gadget which, when remotely activated, generates a localized singularity that pulls nearby players, objects, and debris toward its core.

Usage
The Gravity Vortex can be selected as one of three gadgets of any Light build loadout.
The primary trigger can be used to toss the gadget a small distance, allowing it to attach to the first surface it connects with.
After a brief arming period, the user can use the gadget's secondary trigger to detonate the explosive remotely from any location or distance.
The gadget can also be manually retrieved to restore a charge. This requires interacting with it while in close proximity.

Stats
Effects
The Gravity Vortex can be deployed with a small throw to attach it to a nearby surface. The gadget will arm itself after a few moments. From this point on, it can be remotely activated, causing the Gravity Vortex to appear. The Vortex pulls surrounding objects, like Cashout Stations, Contestants and Arena Carriables, to its center, effectively creating a difficult to traverse area.
Properties
Gadget
Gadget — Used by the contestant as an offensive, defensive or utility tool, and automatically recharges after being used.
Tossed — Can be thrown out a short distance, after which it attaches to the first surface it hits.
Single Charge — Can be used once, then recharges automatically over the cooldown time.
Retrievable — Can be picked up after being deployed to restore a charge.
Remote Controlled — Can be activated remotely once deployed and armed.
Deployment Limit — 1 Gravity Vortex can be deployed at a time. An excess deployment causes the oldest Gravity Vortex to disappear.
Projectile
Projectile — Gets affected by gravity and has a travel time. Once attached, the gadget is no longer a projectile.
Interceptible — While not attached, can be removed by the APS Turret, nullifying its effects. This causes the turret to lose some health.
No Trigger on Impact — Does not trigger when thrown at a contestant, instead flies through them.
Not Damaging — Hitting a contestant directly with the projectile does not deal damage.
Charge
Attached — Attaches to a surface upon deployment. Sticks to the surface even if it moves. Weighs down any carriable object it is attached to.
Solid — Has its own collision, albeit of a very small size, that can be stood upon.
Arming Time — Takes a moment to arm. Trying to activate the gadget before it is armed does nothing.
Destructible — Can be destroyed if its health is fully depleted, such as through hits from bullets or explosions.
Glitchable — Can be temporarily disabled by a Glitch Grenade or Glitch Barrel, preventing it from being activated.
Reshapeable — Can be reshaped by an opposing contestant's Data Reshaper, turning it into a harmless piece of decor.
Sound Cue — Once deployed, emits a quiet audio cue as well as a visible particle effect to both the user's team and enemy teams.
Permanent — Does not expire naturally once deployed and armed. Only expires once activated.
Gravity Vortex
Attached — Attaches to a surface upon deployment, sticking to that surface even if it moves. Can be attached to carriable objects to add weight to them.
Immobilizing — Pulls in nearby contestants and loose objects. Can be escaped by moving away from the center for a brief period.
Friendly Fire — Can pull in the user and their teammates if they approach the vortex once it is activated.
Limited Duration — Lasts for a limited time once activated.
Not Damaging — Does not directly deal damage.
Guide
Strengths
- The Gravity Vortex is effective at locking down an area via crowd control, forcing any contestants nearby the gadget once it is activated to have their movement temporarily restrained until they can escape.
- Easily creates openings; contestants trapped in the vortex cannot move quickly. In some cases, the Gravity Vortex can have combat effectiveness on par with other gadgets like the Flashbang due to its ability to make opposing contestants vulnerable.
- Sticks to surfaces and ceilings, allowing you to create the vortex from unexpected angles.
Weaknesses
- Generally obvious and easy to spot, especially when seen from a short distance outside of the activation radius. This is due to the sound and particle effects that emit from the gadget.
- Unwise activation can easily lead to the user, or their teammates, being pulled in.
Tactics
- The Gravity Vortex benefits from being placed near objectives, like a Cashout Station, or high traffic areas.
- Examples include near a doorway that leads to a defensible location, or a corridor that enemy contestants are required to walk through to reach you.
- Can stop the Cashout Station from being stolen, due to the gadget's ability to also displace objectives as well as debris and loose objects.
Item Mastery
Item mastery XP for the Gravity Vortex can be earned by deploying it and catching contestants in its vortex.
Each time a certain XP threshold is reached, the item levels up. This does not improve the item, but rewards a unique item customization.
